Staying motivated

Now, I don’t know about you but there are days where I feel super demotivated and lacking variety of workouts when at the gym or at home. I’ve found that the Nike Training Club has helped with that. Depending on what your personal fitness goal is - losing weight, toning up, strength training, cardio etc there is a workout for that and they also create workout plans for you!

It also doesn’t hurt having a few friends who are personal trainers or on this fitness journey too. Go ahead and check their instagrams below and give them a follow 😏

Along with other friends who keep my motivated, they also keep me accountable for my words to ensure my actions follow up too. Before starting the gym or any fitness program I’d recommend having at least one other person who will check in on you and hold you accountable for what you’re going.

  1. SWOT analysis- look at your current fitness strengths, areas of weakness that you’ll need to work on. Opportunities and Threats - what/who can help you reach your goals and what can hold you back (for me my work pattern is my biggest threat!)

  2. Go to gym classes - this was one of the best pieces of advise I ever got! It even landed me my first PT who helped me kickstart my strength training.

  3. Get serious about nutrition. Good quality food = better, sustainable energy and more effective workout results. I had to seriously look at my eating habits (I was very complacent that I was naturally slim so ate everything in sight) but it find the fast sugars didn’t give me enough energy for my workouts and I’d be left feeling sluggish. 4. Listen to your body. This is a tough one because sometimes it’s your mind that’s giving up during an exercise and other times it’s your body saying TIME OUT! I encourage pushing yourself most definitely but not to the point of feeling light-headed, nausea and that you cause any damage to yourself.

  5. Stay hydrated. It’s that simple.
