The Treasure Within
Each of us is born with a precious treasure within us,
This gift so unique, rare, made just for us.
It shines through our smiles,
The more we use it, the bigger it grows, and more powerful it becomes.
However, if we don’t learn the value,
If we don’t appreciate the price that was paid for us to have this gift,
We could end up pawning it off, for something of lesser value.
Cheapening ourselves for something else.
Anything of worth, you have to dig for,
It has to be worked for,
There was time, effort and attention poured into the mould of your gift.
But we give it away freely, like the freebies in the magazine,
Swapping it for things of lesser value, trying to attract others’ time, love and attention.
I hear our Father say:
“But My child, don’t you know that you don’t have to sell your gift?
I gave it to you to protect, until the right time to share it with the one I created for you?”
You reply:
“It’s too late, I’ve already given it away to the wrong person,
I’ve let it be abused, and thrown aside like it is trash!
It’s broken in many pieces, no-one wants that now.
What use is it to anyone else?”
Father:
“Give it to Me to restore, I’ll make it as new again.
I made it in the first place.
I know what is required to make it whole again.
I’ll teach you how to guard it, look after it.”
Within you is the greatest treasure of all time.
Your heart.
Your love, gentleness, patience and kindness are what come forth from your treasure.
There is no other heart on this earth quite like yours.
Even identical twins don’t share the same heart.
Your passion, your drive, your dreams
All steered by your heart.
Just as there are thieves out to get the treasure locked in banks,
They will search to steal yours from you
Above all else, guard your heart, for it determines the course of your life. [Pro 4:23, ESV]
Keep watch over your heart, and when the right one comes along,
He’ll let you know it’s time to share your treasure within.
